You have finished revising your finance essay and have prepared your finance essay copy. Now, you only have to prepare it aesthetically so it is more readable for your readers. If your professor has given you a style sheet or other guidelines, you should follow them precisely as you prepare your finance essay copy.
If your professor has not given you any specific guidelines in preparing your finance essay before submission, you can follow the standard style structure as detailed below:
- Type your finance essay on one side only.
- Leave a margin of 1 ¼ inches on the left edge and 1 inch on the top, bottom and right edges of the paper. You can adjust your word processing application for this task.
- Double-space your finance essay text.
- Key in the title of your finance essay in all capital letters at the top of the first page of the text.
- Indent the first line of all paragraphs with five spaces, or in ½ inch.
- Single-space quotations that are indented, rather than run in with the text in the finance essay.
- Begin each bibliographic entry at the left margin. Indent additional lines within the entry five spaces. Single-space within each entry, and double-space between entries.
- Prepare a title page for your finance essay. This contains the title of your essay, your name and the date. You may also include your professor’s name and the specific subject area your finance essay is intended for.
- Number all pages of your finance essay, with your title page as the exception. You can use lower-case Roman numbers for the outline pages and Arabic numbers for all other pages of your finance essay. Set your page numbers in centre alignment at the bottom of the page.
